After working 25 years in Europe Daryel and Rachel Erickson are transferring their ministry to assist Global Teen Challenge. The Erickson's, with their two children, Amy and Marcus, first started their ministry in the country of Portugal in 1985. They worked at Mount Hope Bible College for 11 years where they saw more than 200 graduates go into full and part-time ministry. They also taught at the local Portuguese Teen Challenge, one of the largest in Europe. In 1996 they were asked to move to Brussels, Belgium to coordinate the work of Global University for the 32 countries of Europe. GU is the largest Christian correspondence school in the world. They spent the next 8 years traveling through Europe facilitating more than 5000 students in churches and Bible schools studying God's Word. Thousands of people were evangelized, discipled and trained through the help of the Ericksons and the use of GU materials. In 2006 while continuing their work with GU in Europe they moved to the Mattersey Hall Bible College in the United Kingdom where they started a distance Bible training program that grew in three years to more than 300 students who studied all levels of Bible from discipleship to a degree in Theology, all by correspondence. In the fall of 2008 the Ericksons felt that God was directing them to a new ministry. They began to pray and to seek God's will. Not long after that a missionary friend of theirs from Portugal asked them if they would be interested in continuing their teaching and training ministry with Global Teen Challenge. After much discussion and prayer they agreed. For the first time in 25 years they will again be living in the states. Because of their love of Europe and its people, this was a difficult decision,. They will settle in Columbus, GA where the GTC headquarters and training is located but their ministry will take them to all the world.
